A sculpture, made during an internship with sculptor Malick Guira (in April 2016).
This sculpture depicts the natural process of walking, whereby the backbone is the real "engine" of this complex activity, through which the human body is able to move. Indeed, as a result of a specific twisting of the spine, the shoulders will pivot in one direction while the pelvis will rotate the opposite way, and this will trigger the movement of the legs, which allows us to put one foot in front of the other. Hence it is not our legs which propel us forward, but first and foremost our back, because their part in this process is more of a side effect than the result of a direct muscular effort ... as incredible as this may sound!!
